Biken is a new business division supplying performance MTB parts to wholesale and retail.

We currently need a Product Specialist (Tech Sales & Support) and Assistant Suspension Technician.  These roles can be tailored to suitable candidates.

Location of Work

Shockcraft & Biken are based in the Alexandra, Central Otago.  The Central Otago mountains and schist are an excellent test of suspension and the harsh climate results in stunning scenery and world class riding terrain.

Product Specialist - Tech Sales & Support

We need someone who can understand our products and match technical requirements to customers needs.  We are looking for the right person and can tailor this role and training to suit the strengths of the individual.

Job Description

-  Stay up to date with trends in the bike industry and the Shockcraft/Biken Product range
-  Drive sales by communicating with existing and new customers
-  Customer product support (email/phone/website/face to face)
-  Promote products & services via various channels
-  Maintain Instagram accounts and listings
-  Develop and maintain relationships with dealers and suppliers
-  Provide feedback and review on existing product
-  Opportunity for support role in suspension workshop
-  Order processing and shipment
-  Stores duties, including stock takes and receipt of supplier orders
-  And much much more

Applicant must be:

-  An active mountainbike rider
-  A clear and open communicator
-  Customer focussed
-  A motivated learner
-  Have office level computer skills
-  Able to safely install and remove bicycle components
-  Have very high standards of care and accuracy
-  Physically fit and active
-  Safety conscious, able to follow written instructions and work independently

Additional desirable skills: Networking, knowledge of bike industry & bikes, mechanical aptitude.


Hours of Work

Work would be full-time (5 days, 9 am to 5 pm negotiable), except for Christmas & New Year shutdown.  Start date is negotiable.

Assistant Suspension Technician

Shockcraft needs an Assistant Suspension Technician to help with the increasing workload in our suspension workshop.

Main duties would be suspension service, bookings, shipping of parts, with some stores, orders and general duties.

We are looking for the right person and training will be provided.

Job Description

-  Support for servicing of MTB suspension forks, rear shocks and dropper posts (training provided)
-  Maintaining and organising workshop and supplies
-  Customer service including technical advice
-  Testing of mountain bike parts
-  Processing, packing and shipment of orders
-  General errands

Applicant must be:

-  An active mountainbike rider
-  A natural and talented mechanic
-  Legally able to live and work in New Zealand
-  An active troubleshooter & motivated learner
-  Willing to upskill and obtain further qualifications.
-  Physically fit and active
-  Computer literate
-  Have very high standards of care and accuracy
-  A clear and open communicator
-  Safety conscious, able to follow written instructions and work independently
